Caribbean Style Beachfront Oasis hits Gold Coast

While international travel might be off the cards for a while, a privileged few will be able to experience a taste of the Caribbean at Palm Beach, on the Gold Coast, with the launch of the exquisite Cabana beachfront apartments.


Cabana will boast just 34 opulent, three-bedroom plus multi-purpose room residences, all with panoramic ocean views, opposite the Palm Beach artificial reef – one of the city’s most popular surf breaks.


Steps from the sand is Cabana’s private Caribbean-style residents resort, complete with cotton-draped cabanas on the sand verge and a luxurious pool and barbecue area.



Cabana is being developed by Ignite Projects. Director Josh Foote says the project has already attracted significant interest from local downsizers looking for a location that combines resort-style amenity and stunning architectural design.

“The tropical ambience is mirrored in Cabana’s architecture, which is reminiscent of a traditional beach house with floor-to-ceiling glazing and extensive balconies that lend a classic tranquillity to the building.”


Josh says Cabana is equally impressive on the inside.


“Cabana will not offer short-term rental, so we are anticipating the majority of Cabana purchasers will be downsizers. We have worked with Plus Architecture to ensure each apartment offers the storage, style and comfort level of a full-scale home,” he says.

“Each residence offers up to 200sqm of living space, with every room boasting an array of unique features that capture the essence of beachfront living.


“Stepping into the master bedroom, residents are greeted by floor-to-ceiling glass windows or doors – capturing natural light and cooling sea breezes – many of which open out to a balcony with glass balustrading, showcasing ocean views just meters from the bed.


“With a freestanding stone bath, double vanities and a large, open shower, the ensuite is akin to a private day spa, complete with a Japanese mosaic feature wall tile and an eye-catching, aqua-coloured natural stone benchtop.


“The kitchen is the social focal point of the apartment, featuring a unique natural stone island benchtop and first-class fittings, including V ZUG appliances, Phoenix tapware and panelled doors.



“The living area includes an ethanol fireplace for cooler winter evenings, alongside a multi-purpose room which could be used as a media room or an office for those working from home.


“We have brought the outside in, through floor to ceiling windows throughout each apartment, showcasing stunning views, and the muted white and champagne colour palette that reflects the sunlight on the sand.


“Cabana has been created for those who want to fully experience a beachfront lifestyle.”

NPA Project’s Andrew Erwin says another drawcard for purchasers is the project’s location in Palm Beach, which has experienced the highest price growth of any regional Queensland suburb in the past two decades.


“According to data from realestate.com.au, Palm Beach has experienced a 437 per cent increase in property values, jumping from $167,750 in 2000 to $900,000 in the March quarter of this year,” he says.


“This is the highest growth of any regional Queensland suburb and shows that Palm Beach has been a consistent performer and has remained popular for many years.

“Additionally, realestate.com.au statistics show a 39 per cent increase in demand for apartments in Palm Beach in the past 12 months, which indicates price growth will only continue to trend upwards as more people look to call this area home.

Andrew says the results are hardly surprising.


“Palm Beach has it all – a pristine beach, a popular surf break, some of the city’s best restaurants and cafes and an abundance of local retail. It’s the perfect coastal locale,” he says.


“The suburb has been at the centre of a wave of growth in recent years, with the redevelopment of the Pavilions shopping centre to include a new supermarket and range of specialty stores, and there are plans in the pipeline to extend the light rail south from Broadbeach through Palm Beach.


“Palm Beach is coming of age with new development and remains at the top of the list for buyers looking for a relaxed yet vibrant coastal community with plenty to see and do.”
