A car elevator and two sky garages, custom-designed kitchen, four bedrooms with ensuite’s and a private rooftop pool are just some of the features that make The Monaco’s penthouse stand apart from all other apartments…

Spanning the top two levels and offering 578sqm of living space, The Monaco’s penthouse residence takes in panoramic 360-degree views of the ocean and skyline from the Gold Coast’s exclusive Main Beach.

In partnership with international interior design studio Mannigan Edwards Interior Design, developer Ignite Projects has created a sky home which managing director Josh Foote says is ‘unlike anything the Gold Coast has seen’.

“We went back to the drawing board for the penthouse – we didn’t model the design of what has been done before. Instead, we created our own vision based on the lifestyle we envisage for the residents of this unique home,” he says.

“All of the spaces can be tailored to suit the purchaser’s requirements – especially the kitchen, which can be completely customised from scratch with help from our specialists from Evoque Interiors.

“The result is an abode that is truly one-of-a-kind. It is contemporary, clean and sophisticated, with a real focus on enjoying the finer things in life.

“We did not want to dictate the design of every element of this home and make it impersonal, which is why we offer the residents the opportunity to have input into the design to showcase their personality, fill their home with the things they love and entertain in style.”

Mr Foote says the car elevator to sky garage, which is a feature included in most of the 25 apartments at The Monaco, is the first of its kind in the southern hemisphere, and a key drawcard for luxury car enthusiasts.

“Many luxury car owners regard their vehicle as a work of art, a conversation piece and something they would like to have as part of their home, which is why having a dedicated vehicle space in the apartment is appealing,” he said.

“In the penthouse, the rooftop sky garage opens on to a gallery wing which is accessible by private lift, which could be used to display other items such as fine art or collectibles.
“There’s also a large study adjacent to the master bedroom, ideal for a library, music room or a place to work from home.

“Additional entertainment and recreation spaces are found across the entire upper level of the penthouse, which can also be completely customised to suit the purchaser’s tastes.
“The star of the rooftop area is the 8m pool which overlooks the ocean and fronts a large deck with seating areas screened behind glass to protect from the wind.

“A formal dining space, complete with a kitchen and bar, makes poolside barbecues a breeze, while a sunken lounge next to the pool, with gas-fired fire-pit, is the perfect spot to enjoy a wine while taking in the view at sunset.

“An extended balcony at the edge of the pool makes room for recliners and private seating to relax and read a book or enjoy an intimate meal.

“An expansive, multi-purpose room opposite the pool could be transformed into a billiards room or private theatre – or given its location next to the guest bedroom, an additional lounge.”

Cris Edwards, of Mannigan Edwards, says the generosity of space is a common theme throughout the penthouse interior.

“The penthouse is more than three times the size of the average Australian home and every space within the residence has been designed to maximise comfort and luxury,” she says.
“It’s the smaller details that make a difference – like the fact, all four bedrooms have an ensuite and views towards the ocean or Hinterland.

“The master bedroom is spectacular, occupying the entire north-western wing of the penthouse, with a walk-in wardrobe spanning the length of a wall and a bathroom featuring a free-standing bath or spa.

“We have also paid attention to the flow of living spaces, with the kitchen and butler’s pantry at the heart of the home, flanked by two dining areas, one of which opens to a built-in bar and lounge room.

“From the lounge, you step out on to a balcony with a barbecue terrace, which is a second outdoor dining and entertainment space in addition to the poolside area upstairs.
“Every room within the penthouse has been purposefully designed for relaxation, recreation or entertainment, but the buyer can choose to redesign any element they wish.”

The Monaco is being marketed by NPA Projects’ Andrew Erwin, who says while architecture and design are drawcards for purchasers, location remains king.

“The Monaco is fortunate to be in a class of its own not only in terms of the superior position on the northern-most tip of the coastal strip but also its location within one of the Gold Coast’s most sought-after suburbs,” he says.

“Main Beach is centre stage right now, with a major $200 million plan to revitalise The Spit, which is immediately north of The Monaco, into a world-class destination.

“The Spit will be the Gold Coast’s answer to London’s Hyde Park, with about the same amount of space – 140 hectares – dedicated to parklands and green space, alongside an array of new dining, retail and entertainment precincts.

“There’s already $34 million worth of infrastructure upgrades underway in and around Main Beach, and there are plans to create a superyacht berth at the Southport Marina, which is opposite The Monaco.

“All of this put together means that Main Beach has never been more attractive to purchasers and the skyrocketing enquiry we have seen recently from local and interstate buyers demonstrates this.”

The Monaco features 25 half and full-floor residences.

Construction is expected to commence mid-2021. Renowned builder McNab has been appointed to the project, which is expected to be finished by late 2022.
